Marshall Johnson is a seasoned entrepreneur with a proven track record of investing and operating great companies. With a strong history of successful ventures, Marshall’s passion for nurturing and growing exceptional companies shines through.

As the co-founder of Northspring Partners, Marshall has been a driving force in the search fund ecosystem for almost two decades. His journey started with founding North Point Capital in 2005, where he led the acquisition of Asset Recovery. Operating as CEO, Marshall implemented effective strategies that led to remarkable growth and profitability, ultimately resulting in the successful sale of Asset Recovery to Arrow Electronics. Marshall also held the position of Managing Director at Arctic Capital, where he played a key role in the acquisition of Columbus Hydraulics.

Marshall holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BA from Bucknell University. He has held positions on various boards, including Asset Recovery, Parsons Electric, and Columbus Hydraulics, as well as involvement with non-profits like Parent Aware for School Readiness and Think Small. Marshall is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization. When Marshall isn’t working, you are likely to find him outside with his family, friends or his dog.

Nathan Dey

Managing Partner

As a Michigan native, Nathan relies on his blue-collar roots to bring grit and work ethic to his investing and operating endeavors. He has a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation and has a deep desire to mentor and help emerging business leaders solve some of their most difficult problems.

Most recently, Nathan was the CEO and Chairman of Navegate, Inc., an international supply chain and logistics company purchased through a search fund. Under his stewardship, Navegate grew from a $40 million enterprise to over $100 million annual revenue in just over 3 years. In 2021, Navegate was sold to Radiant Logistics (NYSE: RLGT), a global logistics platform.

Prior to launching his search fund, Nathan had spent the majority of his career as an investment banker advising both bulge bracket and middle-market enterprises on a variety of M&A and corporate finance initiatives.

Nathan received his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Finance from The Eli Broad College of Business and The Honors College at Michigan State University. Nathan is a member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization) and he currently resides in Tampa, Florida with his wife Lina and 2 children.

Kristyan Mjolsnes

Chief Marketing Officer

While Kristyan loved working in-house as a marketing executive for many years, she became passionate about the idea of helping more businesses grow and succeed. Now, Kristyan has the pleasure of working with aspiring business owners, marketers and entrepreneurs to craft a wholistic marketing approach to support their business mission and goals.

As an accomplished and results-driven leader with more than 20 years of experience in implementing innovative demand-generation strategies, Kristyan shares what she has learned; deploying marketing processes, tools, and automation in a wide range of B2B companies to help drive rapid business and revenue growth.

Kristyan has served as the head of marketing and led team performance across all marketing, business development, PR, and communications functions. In her last role, she also created and implemented the company ESG and sustainability program by serving as the executive sponsor and leading the team. She is adept at producing long-term value and capitalizing on growth opportunities for an organization from customers, markets, and business partnerships.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Marketing from Hamline University. Kristyan currently resides in Eden Prairie, Minnesota with her husband and 3 children.
